Refund policy

Standard refund window

Three tiers:

  • First 14 days. Full refund, no questions.
  • Days 15 to 30. Prorated refund (days used minus days remaining).
  • After 30 days. At AskVault's discretion. Rare unless for-cause.

Annual prepay subscriptions follow the same 14-day window from first payment.

How to request

Two paths:

Dashboard. Billing > Help > Refund Request. Pick reason; auto-processes within 24 hours for standard cases.

Email. Send to billing@askvault.co. Include account email and reason. Replied to within 1 business day.

Processing time

  • Standard refund. 5 to 7 business days back to your card or UPI.
  • Faster wire transfer. Available on request.
  • Refund to original payment method by default.

What's refunded

  • Subscription fees for the unused period.
  • Setup fees if applicable.
  • Add-ons prorated.

What's not refunded:

  • Third-party fees (Twilio, Stripe processing).
  • One-time custom-development fees (Enterprise).
  • Refundable services already consumed (e.g., custom-onboarding sessions delivered).

Outage credits

Per SLA per plan:

  • Growth. 99.5% uptime target.
  • Business. 99.9% uptime target.
  • Enterprise. 99.95% or custom.

When breaches occur:

  • Credit = (downtime hours / total hours) × monthly fee.
  • Auto-credited for major outages.
  • Manually requested for marginal cases.

For-cause refunds

Always honored:

  • Material outage beyond SLA bounds.
  • Significant feature removal without 30 days notice.
  • Policy changes that materially affect your use.

No-questions-asked first 14 days

We don't ask why. Trust-first policy:

  • Click Request Refund.
  • Pick reason (optional dropdown; helps us improve).
  • Refund processed within 24 hours of approval.

About 3 to 5% of first-month subscribers request. Most stay.

Annual prepay

For annual plans:

  • 14-day window from first payment.
  • After 14 days, prorated to monthly equivalent.
  • Cancel anytime; subscription ends at cycle end.

Annual saves about 15 to 20% off monthly.

Limits

  • Refund window. 30 days for prorated; 14 for full.
  • Outage-credit cap. 100% of monthly fee per occurrence.
  • Processing time. 5 to 7 business days standard.

Common pitfalls

Refund requested after 30 days. Out of standard window. Submit for-cause if applicable.

Annual prepay regret. Within 14 days, full refund. After, prorate.

Refund to wrong card. Set as default before requesting.

FAQ

Will my data be deleted after refund?

If you cancel: data preserved on Free tier within caps. If you delete account: 30-day soft delete then wipe.

Can I refund and re-subscribe?

Yes. No penalty.

Is there a refund for downgrade?

Plan changes prorate automatically. No separate refund needed.
